Arm Candies from Rue 21 I got for only $3

One of my Fave Belts, I love the details on it

So, I have been trying to squeeze in some time to make a quick post this past week but this crazy schedule of mine just became crazier. I'm really glad that I have a little bit of time to make this post. Planning a wedding, going back and forth to the Doctor, & having fever almost everyday is just too much for me. Well, of course, planning a wedding is great for me as it is an important event of my life, I just hope my health is at its greatest at this time but it's not. I think I have taken my health for granted for a very long time.

Just an update, Doctors' have taken my blood samples and x-ray just because the redness of my eyes won't go away (Well, it's started going back to normal right after I did all those. Great!). I just hope I'll be in tip top shape in time for my wedding! Gahhhh it's just frustrating and really stressful. When I am finally clear on all these sickness, I promise to try to be a lot more healthy! Weird but somehow, I gained weight as opposed to losing while I was sick so I need to shed a little bit. I guess I need to push myself and do some exercising! Wish me LUCK!

NOW let's talk about the outfit...

I wore this outfit in one of my Doctor's appointment. The floral top especially its colors at least made me happy and actually helped with all the stress that I was having at that time because my ophthalmologist just can't figure out yet what's going on. I don't usually buy tops with busy prints but since I realized that all my clothes are somehow boring and blah, I decided to go ahead and started purchasing floral tops :) And, as I promise before in my past entries, featured is one of my DIY maxi skirts. It's not as perfect but it'll do, I just need to practice more on sewing maybe after the wedding. Oh, and the arm candies I got from Rue 21, I don't really shop there but just decided to check it out while running some errands one day and I came across these pretty candies. $3 is actually not bad for these beauties! I'll feature the rest of my good finds from Rue on my next post! :)

Bought these cute espadrilles at Ideeli.com

I think everyone should have at least a pair of Levi's

I am indeed as happy as the color palette of my outfit! April is my favorite month mainly because It's my birthday month, but what happened on April 26, 2013 added to the reasons why I love April. My Husband just proposed! I'm pretty sure I am slightly throwing you off and a bit confused with what I just said, so please click on the link from an online news clip explaining how, what, & why :)

Obviously, after any proposal comes the wedding. Actually, there's been wedding plans already and that's the event that I've been preparing for the past few months and that's what's keeping me busy, not allowing me to squeeze in some time to at least make a blog entry. I'm just too excited to share this wonderful news so I had to make a quick post :) I honestly never thought he'll propose since we're already married but he definitely surprised me that Friday night and he did it in a very special way. And, I would like to share to you how he did it. I know some people keep the proposal private but I would like to show you guys the effort my husband put into the whole thing just to make me happy and I am proud of him! When cheetahs go to Work

(The Limited Blazer, Forever 21 top, Mystyle Lab arm candies, Michael Kors Watch, Forever 21 Cheetah Skirt, Shoedazzle Wedges, Charming Charlie Necklace, Burberry Sunnies)

Sans the Blazer

Fell in love with this Necklace because it looks like a snake plus it's on sale :)

Christmas present from hubby-Michael Kors Watch

Another steal from Mstyle Lab-Arm candies for only $.99
I was not a fan of any animal prints, maybe because I thought that it's too much and I can't actually pull it off or maybe "SEXY" comes to mind when I think of it and I never really associated myself with that word. I just started experimenting with animal prints when I interned at a fashion house when I was in college. The designer, Gayla Bentley, really love these prints and uses them in some of her designs. She thought me that Animal prints can be sophisticated as well, depending on how you present it. Well come to think of it, everything just depends on how you wear pieces of clothing. Now I am not afraid of these prints because I can say that I know how to work around it already although I have yet to try other ones like maybe Zebra prints? I guess some minor shopping damages should be done so I can try it :)

So, it's been a week since my last entry, preparation for an important event and being hospitalized for pink eye kept me from posting. Anyway, I'm really excited to share with you all about the "event" that I am planning as most of the stuff involve are DIY. Just FYI, I love DIYs. I've made my own clothes before when I used to have all the time in the world to sew at least 2 skirts in one day. I've done accessories (bracelets & necklaces) too. The skirts I made I won't be able to show you because I have to give them away coz they won't fit me anymore. Talk about gaining weight! Oh wait! I have featured them in my Chictopia and Lookbook account, Click above if you want to see them :) or I might as well devote some of my time posting an entry with all my past DIY clothing & accessories for your convenience right? I hope that I'll recover soon from Pink eye so I can feature that as soon! Anyways, thanks for dropping by! :) ❤LRS

Blazed

(Lauren Conrad Blazer, Forever 21 Belt, Casio Gold watch, Shoedazzle Wedges, Forever 21 Top, MStyle Lab Necklace, Skirt-Gifted)
One of my first buys at Shoedazzle
Fell in love with this bow belt from Forever 21

MStyle Lab Necklace I got for only $.99, what a steal eh? Perks of following fashionistas in Instagram
Playing dress up is one of my favorite things to do and I am very lucky that I get to do that in my work place. Not having to put on a uniform is fun but it can be a pain as well, sometimes you just want to dress down or you're not in the mood to think about what outfit to put on. Although you have tons of clothes in your closet it seems like you have less. That happens to everybody don't you think? So what do you do? Well, let me tell you what I do when I don't have time, I just grab anything basic like a cami, tank top, or a tee and pair it with skirt or jeans. Simple, easy, and it doesn't take a lot of thinking. But it doesn't seems appropriate for work though, especially in an office environment. Well, that's why Blazers should be a staple in your closet. Adding it to the simplest outfit makes it suitable to go to work to. Just add some needed accessories and nice pair of shoes and you're ready. Don't stress yourself too much on what to wear because work is very stressful as it is already. Just have fun and make yourself comfortable but still fashionable.

MAXI-nista

(Forever 21 basic top/Necklace/Belt, Michael Kors watch, Shoedazzle Wedges, Laura Michelle Maxi Skirt)

Coin Necklace from Forever 21, constant partner of my Michael Kors Watch

I super love these wedges from Shoedazzle, they're so comfy and light

You can never go wrong with Maxis, agree? Well at least for me. Be it cold or hot you can actually wear them, it's just a matter of knowing what to pair them with. You are lucky if you have the height for it, as for me, I am having difficulty looking for the right length because of my being short (Thanks to my mom's genes for that). Although I love this particular article of clothing, I have to say that I don't own a lot of them because of the reason I just stated above. Sad isn't it? That's why I made sure that I use what I learned from one of my classes when I was still taking Fashion & Retail Management and made my own Maxi skirts, and I must say that they turned out quite good. I will definitely feature them here in the future, so watch out for it! Now, my goal is to add more Maxis in my closet.

One of too many food stalls

I am now a certified Texan! Yeehaw!
You are not a Texan unless you've been to a Rodeo. I've been living in Texas for 8 years now and I've never been to the Rodeo until this year! I know it's a shame but hey, at least I was able to squeeze in some time to go! For those who doesn't know how big Houston Rodeo is, here's some facts: 1. It is considered the world's largest live entertainment and livestock exhibition there is (I'm pretty sure there are same events somewhere but not as good as this one) 2. It is held at Reliant Stadium which is the home for big events such as concerts and sports game, think Houston TEXANS! 3. This year the attendance reached its record high of 2.5 Million and that includes me 4. World's biggest recording artists performed in this event and this year Pitbull and Bruno Mars (to name a few) came to visit. (Too bad I wasn't able to go, I had to turn down an invite to see Pitbull due to work-BOO!)

Anyway, since it's my first time I'm not as ready. It's quite obvious on my outfit that I am lacking an important part of a Rodeo ensemble, yup you guess it right, the BOOTS! But I guess the cowboy hat compensated for the lack of appropriate footwear. I just have to invest in a really good pair of Cowboy Boots for next year. All in all, my first time's great! I can't wait to experience some more of it especially food. I certainly do recommend going to the Rodeo when you come visit Houston :) See you there next year!
